Introduce yourself here!

Hi,

I’m Adrien. 31yo French triathlete, father and CTO of a Japanese company.
I have been doing software engineering for more than 10 years, with sporadic data science experiences here and there.
I followed the fast.ai course part 1 v1 and half of the part 2 v1, then got busy with other stuff and forgot most of it without practice. Same thing as the 4+ ML & AI MOOCs I followed before on other platforms like Cousera.

Currently working my way through the ML1 courses, I’m committed to be more involved with Kaggle competitions. If for any reason, I’d have to change job, I’m resolved to definitely switch profession to full stack data scientist…

Hopefully this time will work out and I’ll finally become used to investigate, model, analyze and visualize any kind of dataset :muscle:
Looking forward to studying with you all.

Hi,

I am Gabriel, currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico but I move from city to city mostly in US and Mexico but I would really like to spend some time in Germany or Spain next year. I am a computer musician, professional software engineer and aspiring data scientist who is pursuing an online master in AI.

I built some stuff out of the previous fast.ai videos and looking forward into building something cool and learning a lot. I really liked the v2 videos and I am pretty excited of what is to come. Thanks Rachel and Jeremy.

Hello! My name is Che. I’m a data scientist based in Atlanta (If anyone else in the class is in Atlanta, I’d love to get together and talk about the course!). I’ve previously done ML work in SF, but am excited to learn more about the latest ML methodologies, and I’ve loved using the fastai library before.

Hey folks ! Looking forward to loads of fun DL learning with all of you this year. I’m Nikhil, I’m a wireless systems engineer working in the Bay Area, CA for a number of years.

I attended the in-person USF fastai course last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping to improve my skills and apply them to bigger and better problems. Good Luck!

Hi, I’m Nicolas from Asuncion, Paraguay. I’ve been working in telecommunications for the last 10 years across different roles and working with a lot of data. I’m also pursuing an online Masters in Data Science from Indiana University. If everything goes as planned, I will be graduating in December.

I have worked in a few personal and academic ML projects but looking to transition into a full ML/data science professional role soon. I hope this course can help me strengthen my knowledge on Deep Learning and start applying concepts to real world problems.

Hi Everyone, I’m AnnMargaret! I’m a full stack JS/Rails Web Developer and Android Mobile Developer, that’s been also immersing myself in ML/DL projects. I look forward to presenting my latest research project (a fusion of Android and DL) at the NIPS 2018 conference and learning from everyone here!

Hello Everyone. I am Ashin, from Nepal. Currently, I am in the third semester of my undergraduate experience but I’ve had fair amount of exposure of working as Computer Vision Developer and Machine Learning Developer along with tweaking around with various Deep Learning, NLP algorithms in the real world industry. I wanted to take this course because this is something interesting and I want to get into research stuffs later. Also, I’ve never completed any courses, so joining this would keep me in track and ultimately fulfill my dream of completing a course for real. Also, I know I’ll definitely learn so much more from the course and community here. So, yeah.

Looking forward to the course and, hopefully, an amazing learning experience.

Hello Students!
I’m Arjun, from India and currently residing in US. I am a Technical Lead cum Project Manager wannabe Architect, with many hats.
Waiting to get amazed by the sea of DL here. Great to meet everyone here.

Thanks

Hi All,

I am Rajat and am working as NLP engineer. I have been part of this community since part 1 v1. I am excited to learn fastai v3 and meet new people from various countries. I will be happy to get connected on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rajathandaus/

Hi people! Very excited to join the live sessions and connect with everyone interested in fast.ai / dl.
I am Andrei from Belarus, who recently moved to Australia / Melbourne!
Started my career 8 years ago as a junior analyst, I built my way up to be Head of Analytics at a consulting agency. Couple years ago got interested in ML/DL and since then have been pushing myself to close the gap between being an analyst and being ML data scientist.
As an inspirational project would like to use Deep Learning for fairy-tales creation in Byelorussian language. This language is dying (because at school they stopped teaching it and parents don’t use it) but I hope if parents can read little stories to their loved ones before going to bed, there is a chance to save the language.

Exciting time ahead. I’m Thiwanka currently following my Master’s degree in Applied Data Science (Data Science and Astrophysics combined)at UC, NZ. Working on a project which related to Cosmic Rays( ML Optimisation) and also Medical Imaging(Most of the DCNN applications). I received my first Masters in GIS and Remote Sensing and did a research in big spatiotemporal data. Currently pretty much focusing on Deep Learning.

Hi Everyone,

I am Abhishek. I am working as a data engineer in an IT services company. I have done some kaggle competitions and got results applying my learning from fastai v2. I am currently working on quantum computers based ML as part of my work. Really excited to learn with you all.
Fastai is amazing!

thanks mate, nice to meet you too! Hope you will enjoy it as every new one here!

I love that idea, do they have an api or do you have to scrape yourself?

Hi all,
My name is Victor and I’m currently a graduate student in Electrical engineering department. I watched a couple of fastai videos on youtube and learnt alot from it. Looking forward to Part 1 of the program
Thanks to Jeremy for creating this opportunity!

Hi everyone,

My name is Ken and I’ve previously taken the Part 1 and 2 (v2) classes as an international fellow and learned a lot. My work is related to audio and video media, so I have been investigating applications in those realms. Looking forward to learning about the latest and learning with everyone.

Hi! My name is Christian and I am a 1st year undergrad at UVA. I have jumped around a bunch of the fast.ai’s lectures and last year as a student in high school I attempted my first machine learning research project. While it did not go as expected, I learned a lot and I was shocked how much I enjoyed reading the current papers. I want to improve my knowledge so I can begin to learn how to implement papers and then begin to publish my own blog posts and papers.
