I’ve just started Lesson 2, and Jeremy talks about the previous homework assignment (submitting to Kaggle). I don’t remember that from Lesson 1, and it’s not in the notebook. What am I missing?
Also, he uses a notebook there (“redux.ipynb”) that’s not in the git repo. Where did it come from?
I see there are a bunch of steps in the wiki (http://wiki.fast.ai/index.php/Lesson_1). Is that where we’re supposed to find homework assignments?
Still don’t know where to get redux.ipynb.
You can find everything you need in the github repo.
I think it may have been renamed to
Ah, thanks! Any idea on where we were told about the homework assignment?
I have the same question – where is HW1 assigned. Though I can infer from the wiki that it was probably to submit the solution using VGG from lesson 1 to the Kaggle dogs vs cats competition…
I think homework is kind of the wrong word; it’s more like suggestions of things to do to gain a deeper understanding of the week’s topic. Jeremy mentions things to do for “homework” throughout the whole video, so the wiki is the best place to go to get all the homework in one place.
OK It wasn’t obvious until I found the reference to “redux” in video 2, and so it appears that the homework for lesson 1 was to complete in the newer version of the dogs vs cats competition called “dogs vs cats redux” at https://www.kaggle.com/c/dogs-vs-cats-redux-kernels-edition.
I found the homework assignment here: Lesson 1 discussion
