Setting Up: curl script hanging on /boot/grub

I am just setting up my Paperspace environment.

I execute the script curl http://file.fast.ai/setup/paperspace | bash

I get an error: rm: cannot remove ‘/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ . ’: No such file or directory

So I execute sudo touch /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/test.txt

The script starts to execute ok.

I then get these options:

However, I am unable to select any option. Arrow keys, spacebar, return key…nothing responds.

When I use the arrow keys, spurious characters appear:

The script execution hangs here and I cannot continue.
