Rtx Quadro 5000 or Rtx 2080 for DL(laptop)

Hi,
Nvidia is introducing its rtx Quadro 5000 for laptops and I’m thinking about buying a laptop for portable working option. I do large amount of image training with CNN and feature extraction.

Is it a good option to buy an rtx 2080 full(non max q) laptop or should I wait for an rtx Quadro 5000(laptop) powered laptops that are going to release very soon? Which one of these two graphics cards would be good for DL performance assuming they have almost same specs but Quadro rtx 5000 has twice as large vram memory than the rtx 2080 one ?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
Soumya Ghosal

I’m considering the same question. Did you make any determination?

I’m leaning toward thinking the much higher memory of the Quadro would be more useful for novel applications while its speed is unlikely to be slower to a crippling degree. This benchmarking site seems to think the GeForce RTX 2080 is a better performer, at least in gaming style applications, however: https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-RTX-2080-mobile-vs-Quadro-RTX-5000-mobile
