Is there a formal way to value the quality or in some cases the importance of a deep learning paper.
Something like the paper is interesting since it got the best paper award , or another paper is good but it might not worth spending time.
How do seasoned paper readers traverse through the plethora of deep learning papers.
There isn’t a formal way - but I find the ‘related papers’ section of http://www.arxiv-sanity.com/ helpful.

Thanks.
The ‘formal’ way is the number of citations that the paper gets (which you can see on scholar.google.com), but it’s more a measure of popularity than quality.
