I have a degree in veterinary medicine but I am also an experienced developer (web and data science) and have spoken at Europython (“Brainwaves for Hackers”). The veterinary thing is actually more recent, and I am searching for a PhD program to apply to in the next one or two years.
Does anybody have suggestions where to apply? I am interested in machine learning for medical and biological data (imaging, time series, IOT), for example from clinical and preclinical studies. I am not very picky about the actual applications, but would prefer something in that domain. I hope to add value to a team by providing an interface between engineers and domain experts.
