Let's Stay in Contact!

If you’re like me, you sure enjoyed getting the chance to talk with such an interesting set of perspectives about data issues. No pressure for people who want to lay low, but for those of us looking to stay connected, let’s set up our address book here! I’ll take a stab at a rough template, but feel free to override my formatting if you think it’s dumb.

Data things I’d loved to be pinged about: complexity science (Santa Fe Institute fanboy), agent-based modelling, SQL (especially self-modifying dynamic SQL).
Non-data things that I would happily talk about anyway: biking, board games. And I’ve got a bit of a biology background and I’ve been keeping my epidemiology sharp, so I’m happy to help with any COVID-19 questions.

Topics I really like: effective altruism, D&I, AI policy specifically, DL/RL, language models ~in the wild~, tech policy more generally, historical analogies / science and technology studies.

I’m doing AI policy research independently and would love to write with y’all! If you’re working on something let me know if you need someone to read/review, I actually enjoy proofreading.

Hi everyone,

It was great meeting you and learning about your varied backgrounds.

I’d love to stay in touch.

I’m on Twitter at https://twitter.com/@skinnylatte (mostly food / Asia tweets), and you can also reach me at skinnylatte@gmail.com at any time.

To recap, I am the director of product management for the City and County of San Francisco and I would love to hear from anyone who might be interested in the intersection of tech and politics.
