Introduce yourself here!

Hi, glad to be here! I’m Alexey, switched from healthcare to data science and machine learning recently. Now working as a data scientist in R&D department of financial technology company in Novosibirsk, Russia. Trying hard to make my way through all these new and exciting knowledge and slills!

Hi everyone, I am Ron from South Africa. I generally use Keras in R for deep learning and I am excited to get more experience in Python during this course. I am very interested in object segmentation models and want to apply these to the types of pictures one generally sees in supermarkets!

Hello everyone!

I am Nihar and originally from Pune, India (currently living in Los Angeles). I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and have been interested in deep learning for the past couple of years. One of the first courses I did on this subject was the original fast.ai course and I loved Jeremy’s practical approach to teaching DL. Having worked on couple of projects in the field, I am now looking to expand my knowledge and to build a portfolio of projects to begin a successful career in deep learning and data science! Super excited for v3 of the course!

Hi there! I’m Lindy, an ML and CV engineer in San Francisco. I’ve been a researcher in environmental monitoring of killer whales and other marine life. Also done some satellite image work and augmented reality applications. So happy to meet you all.

Hello! My name is Jesús and I’m from Lima, Perú. I have a Telecom engineering degree and I went over the v2 version of dl1/dl2 videos and get really surprised by the high quality content. Previously I studied the ML and DL specialization taught by Andrew Ng.
Now I’m looking to get a better understanding in Computer Vision and Structured data in order to change my career path.

Hi everyone …

My name is Yogesh and I am learning and working in Deep learning and data science for almost 3 years. I am currently working as Lead data scientist in Codenscious Technologies also pursuing my bachelors degree in computer science and engineering. I have worked in computer vision and NLP a lot.I am now headed towards the meta learning approaches and doing some research to effectively use Meta learning in reinforcement learning with robust Policy gradient methods.

Hello Everyone, this is Nikhil from Bangalore, India. I am currently doing data analytics and a PoC project using ML.
Started learning ML, on and off, about 6 months ago. Have done the 4 chapters of Fast.ai v2 course apart from couple of other standard courses. Looking to apply ML knowledge to solve a couple of problems that I have in mind. Thank you @jeremy, @rachel and everyone else involved in making this happen.

Hi everyone
It is Ibrahim here, data analytics engineer in Australia, used to be plasma physicists, at Columbia University, new york, but for last 15 years I am working as a senior developer in Australia. Looking forward for version 3, done version 1 and 2 before. What I like about FastAi is its real word applications.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Danny from the US. I am software engineer working on python, c++, and C# with the last few years on python with mostly Windows. I have been dabbling with courses in Deep learning from Coursera and and watching the early Fast.ai videos. I am super excited about the course and learning more about deep learning.

Hi everyone, I’m Praveen Sanap. I a Software Developer working in Singapore for 3 years now.

I had done the original Machine Learning Coursera course by Andrew Ng, then I did the first 3 courses from the Deep Learning specialization by Andrew Ng, now I’m doing a community course in NUS (Deep Learning for NLP).

I want to learn the practical part of Deep Learning i.e. implement, train models and solve some problem.

Currently I’m working on a project to generate Comments from source code(As part of the course in NUS). It can be framed as a Neural Machine Translation +Comprehension/Summarization task. I’m still thinking about few model architecture I want to experiment with.

Hi! My name is Dmitry. I am from Novosibirsk, Russia. I have extensive experience in software development and sufficient experience in working with classical models of machine learning, but very little experience with deep learning (some experience with tensorflow).

Hi there,
My name is Vitaliy(Vancouver. BC)
I’ve never used ML in production, but was interested in ML theory and went through fast.ai part 1 2017, lessons 1-6. Being an SDE in distributed systems, I hope to shift my career path toward ML. I’ve also digged fast.ai code a bit and hope to become a contributor soon.

I’m Ben - I’m a software developer living in Vancouver BC.

Most of my work in ML so far has been around news recommendations, and I’ve led teams working on that a couple different companies now. I’m currently examining ways to apply ML to make better developer tools.

I also write blog posts and have some open source projects (my py-spy python profiler and implicit recsys library being the more popular of them).

I’m taking this course because of a strong recommendation from a friend of mine who went through a previous version. I’m looking forward to it!

I’m Andrey from Russia. Previously I have worked for ~4 years as a consultant in ERP-system implementation. Now I have 1.5 experience as a DS. I have completed a number of courses and projects.
I hope to learn how to use fastai library thanks to this course

Hi, I am Narendra from Michigan. I am a graduate student specializing in Robotics. My current research at Michigan Tech is focused on Magnetic Membrane Actuators and Probabilistic Reinforcement Learning. In my free time, I am affiliated with Deepkapha.ai where I develop autoML techniques. I am interested in this course because the past ones were fun and I like to keep track of techniques which are practical as opposed to just theoretical breakthroughs and thousands of pretty GANs.
I would say I am proficient in DL/ML but I definitely know how much more there is which I can learn and expand myself into. One of my past works is available here, and soon I would be publishing another paper on a learning rate controller.

I’m Kanat from Kazakhstan, senior year Computer Science student. I’ve had some prior experience with deep learning, particularly I worked with sound using RNNs on my last internship. I am currently doing my senior year project in CNN pruning.
I’m looking forward to completing this course to get more intuitive knowledge of DL.

Oh hi all, my name Arib, from Indonesia, currently live in Shanghai.
Web dev here for cloud accounting company, doing master computer science in the mean time.
Following fast.ai since a DL v2, now DL v3 is coming, really happy.
ML v1 also finished, and trying to find time to refresh it with ML v2.

Hello Everyone,
I am Bishal Lakha from Nepal. Currently, I am working as an Ai engineer in a robotics and Ai startup based in Nepal. I hope this course will be immensely helpful for me to build better Ai system to make smarter robots.

Hi everyone, I am Sairam, living in Bengaluru, India. I work for a company as a Data Analyst. I have been trying to read up on Machine Learning, Statistical Techniques to apply them and find out insights from data for sometime now, but haven’t been very successful at it. The fast.ai founders’ vision of making these tools accessible to laymen like me is really inspiring and I really hope to learn and then utilize my learnings to add value to the world around me.

This is a massive understatement folks! She’s an amazing GAN-Artist!
Please go checkout @helena’s amaaaaaaaazing GAN art! It is crazy cool!
