Hi, I am Helsinki based software engineer. I look forward the classes but if I can’t attend on live coz of time zone difference, then I ll follow the youtube recording soon enough. (Will youtube video be available after live class ?)
Hi all. My UserName is PeterKelly, and my real name is Peter Kelly, the photo is of our beautiful Staffy named Patsy; she is 8 yrs, I am 70. My programming experience includes FORTRAN77 - YUCH!!! machine code, assembly language, C, C++ (what a joy, as well as microprocessor systems design very large pcbs). Assembly for microprocessor families such as the great 6502 from MOS, Rockwell and Synertech, the technology from which ARM sprouted, if I remember correctly, Motorola family 6800, 6801, 6805, and the beaut 6809 and 68000 families.
A former work, and now continuing personal Dr. Tony …(‘Pi’) told me to ‘do the fast.ai thingy’, so I started.
There (online) I got mainly Jeremy and a dash of Rachael, with hopefully much more of both to come.
Peter Kelly, OZ … Australia.
Hi, My name is Nikhil and I am graduate student at Oklahoma State University. I am pursuing my Master’s in Data Science. From this course I want to improve my ML/DL skills. At present I am working on Youtube 8m DS competition hosted on kaggle where the task is to build a video classification model
Hello everyone,
First of all, thanks to Jeremy Howard for taking the initiative of free education for all. No matter where they are.
I’m Avish Patidar. Currently working as a Data Analyst in Pune, India. I have some understanding of ML and statistical analysis. Right now I’m going through the Intro to Machine Learning course. Hopefully, it will be completed by the time this class starts.
Also, it would be awesome to create a study group in Pune. Let’s connect if you are in Pune or any nearby place.
Huge fan of your work
Hello everyone! I’m so excited about the v3 of this course, I’ve done 2 fast.ai courses before and it was great! help me a lot! Thank you for all the contributors! especially Jeremy of course
So, my name is Rafal, I am from Poland and working as a Machine Learning Engineer in an online marketing company in fraud/phishing field. I am using python 3 and tensorflow.
But first and foremost, what you have to know about me is that I love machine learning and deep learning I want to know even more about that!!
Hi, I am Marc from Germany and I am very excited to be a part of this. I have done the excellent DL1/DL2 v2 courses and am not finished with ML (currently working on it). I can identify very much with what @stas has written, I have to practice and code much more and am planning to do that within this course. I didn’t have the restraint/discipline to NOT continue watching the next lessons because I found it all so fascinating. So being “paced” this time will be great to follow along more thoroughly. Thank you Jeremy and Rachel for making all of this amazing content publicly available and free for all!!
Hello!
I am Meghana. I recently graduated and working now. I am really looking forward to learn all the basics clearly.
Happy Learning!
Hi All.
I joined fastai part 1 last year, competed in a couple of CV/NLP competition, won one gold medal on Kaggle with 4500+ teams, resigned from DS position and started working as Deep Learning Engineer with some buddies from fastai 2017.
Thanks Jeremy and the team for fastai 2017. Looking forward to enjoy fastai 2018. Good luck everyone.
Hello everyone!!
I am Vikas Bhandary (a full-stack developer from Nepal). I have completed MTech from DCRUST university (India). I’ve done research on Computer networks (More specifically Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks) and published 2 papers during my course. I developed an interest in Deep learning while doing my research work.
I started my deep learning journey with kaggle’s TensorFlow Speech Recognition Challenge competition. I used TensorFlow in the beginning. I have been working on Kaggle competitions for a while now. I completed dl1 course very recently (and working on dl2 now).
I am currently working in a startup (DrwinTech Inc.). We are developing a project which requires me to create a system for scoring resumes and give suggestions for improvements. I want to apply deep learning to this problem.
I hope to work as NLP researcher in near future.
So many Thanks to @jeremy for giving us this great opportunity.
I am very much excited to join all of you in this great learning experience.
(if anyone here is from Nepal please follow me on twitter or LinkedIn)
Perks of living in the eastern part of the world: Every new day begins by a dose of new art from you and updates / techniques / information from Jeremy and the team on our Twitter Feed. What an inspirational way to begin a day!
Hi,
I’m Bharath from Mysuru. I’ve completed two online course on Machine Learning including the classic Andrew Ng’s course. Through this course I hope to gain intuition into the working & deployment of DNN models.
I’m specifically interested in models for time series data for grading, translation, summarizing text etc… I worked as a Software engineer on IIoT web analytics, currently content developer for Maths & Python programming for ML in Bengaluru. Looking forward to a exciting learning experience & networking with fellow participants.
Hello fast.ai community,
First of all thanks to @jeremy, @rachel and the fast.ai team AI is truly making leaps and bounds, and not necessarily in technology advancement, but (more importantly) in its global adoption. Arigatō!!
I’m a Rwandan living and studying in Japan. I work part-time in embedded vision R&D for a cameras manufacturer while completing a Master’s in intelligent systems (ML really). 2 years ago I wouldn’t believe what I’m writing and where I am writing it (this forum ).
I have published some of my work here, and recently got accepted for the 2nd Black in AI workshop at NIPS 2018 … the crazy thing is that just a few months ago I didn’t know what NIPS is, or even what an FPGA chip is. But now my day is full of circuit boards and research papers. And. I. Love. It!
Hi all,
It’s that time of the year again and I’m glad to be here once again. I have taken the fastai v1 p1, v1 p2, v2 p1 online and have had the privilege to take fastai v2 p2 in-person at San Francisco. Currently, there’s no better course to learn DL techniques other than fastai. This reminds me of the incredible time I have had with the study group in v2p2 and it was a great learning experience.
I currently work full time in India as a Data Scientist and I consult with firms across the world on deep learning centric solutions. Looking forward to learning more! Happy to contribute to these forums once again.
Cheers!
Hi everyone,
I am Marco from South Africa. I co-founded a DL/ML startup focused on the insurance/medical industry. I have been using the fastai library to solve vision, text and tabular problems (in a production system).
What I am hoping to get out of this course is a deep understanding of the new library. I am also very interested in the combination of RL and DL, so as a first project I would like to reimplement AlphaZero using the fastai library, and then modify its loss function for single player problems, which allows it to be applied to all sorts of interesting optimisation problems
