Image Segmentation – How to?

Hi guys,

Following on from my question, I read this and it appears that using bounding boxes isn’t ideal compared to segmenting images, for accuracy reasons.

I was wondering if Sloth is still the favoured means of segmenting images, or whether there’s a better solution since the post that suggested using it?

To recap my starting problem: I basically want to count the number of mushrooms in an image.

I am trying to solve a similar problem i.e. “count number of objects in an image”. I was curious as to what approach you finally ended up going with and if you found any tutorials helpful ?
