Hi, I’m trying to start practicing with lesson 1 but I’m having some trouble creating a VM because of the quotas limit in GCP.
I’m not sure, but I think I’ve followed an outdated guide to request a quota increase.
My problem is that the current guide links to the GCP guide which, of course, does not answer my specific problem. It just tells me to change the quotas I want to increase (and from here on I have no idea what to do).
Can somebody help me?
Did you already manage to request a quota increase? If you follow the link https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/quotas you should see a long list of different services - did you get to this list already?
Yes, I got to this list. And I already menaged to request a quota increase, but for the compute engine API, because I was erroneously following an outdated guide.
My problem is that I don’t know how to follow up from this point, according to the most recent version of the course.
Are you trying to follow this guide: https://course.fast.ai/start_gcp#step-3-create-notebook. This guide should still be working. Some of the interfaces might look a bit different but the main details should be the same.
I followed these instructions and found out that it was a problem with GCP. They had increased my quotas but they were still unavailable. Therefore I could not activate my instance.
