Did you enable comments in your front matter

Yes,
You can also check the front matter here https://github.com/openml/blog/blob/master/_posts/2020-03-24-Finding%20a-standard-dataset-format-for-machine-learning.md

You’re using a really old version of fastpages. Can you manually upgrade please? You will need to create a new repo and move your files over

Thank you!!

Hello. I love the ease with which fastpages converts notebooks to blog posts. However, I cant get the comment feature to work. I worked through all the steps in the troubleshooting guide, but no luck.

  1. I’ve upgraded fastpages
  2. I’ve got comments enabled in Front Matter
  3. Utterances has access to my repo
  4. Blog seems to build fine locally, but also without comment features.

Can you please advise what to do?

Repo is here: https://github.com/fabiangunzinger/blog

@fgu have you walked through the troubleshooting steps in the README? Looks like you haven’t setup Utterances properly. I get this when I open your blog:

I’ve verified that the comments work properly when the instructions are followed.

Also, you should start a new thread, as your question is not related to the current thread.

Thank you for your response, Hamel, and apologies for starting this in the wrong place (I’m still relatively knew to all this).

I went through the troubleshooting as best I could given my understanding and didn’t come across any issues (e.g. while running the blog locally or in the issues section of the repo.)

I also tried to follow the setup instructions for Utterances: Utterances has access to my repo, issues are enabled in settings, and the repo is public.

I’d much appreciate if you could point me to what I’m missing.

Do you see an error message like this

I can confirm everything works for me, I just did a fresh test. Perhaps you customized something on your site? If you start a new repo does it work?

Thank you for your replies, Hamel, and for looking into this, and apologies for my very late replies (I must have missed the notifications from your reply). I just followed your suggestion of starting a new repo an the comments work like a charm, now. So, I probably did customise/mess up something during setup. So glad it works now – thank you again for your help!
