Jeremy asked for some guidance once one has finished learning the primitives. I mentioned three principles (leading axis, staying flat, and using Boolean masks). These, and a few more points, are included in my personal style guide. Warning: Personal opinion based on personal experience — not official in advice in any way. For every point, there are probably many good APLers that disagree.
