Hello!
This year 2021 Asus announced interesting concept of a laptop that I would love to buy, if I can utilize external GPU for training.


Please share your experience with training on external cards. I really need laptop, but the concept of having desktop-like productive GPU sounds great, especially after latest fastai windows release.

Maybe someone used https://www.razer.com/gaming-egpus/razer-core-x/RC21-01310200-R3U1 as external GPU for a laptop? Or any other hardware feedback would be helpful too!

No, but I decided to buy something more classic and took https://store.asus.com/us/item/202101AM120000001 with dark gray color and totally happy about it. Fast.ai works on windows, it is superfast compared to my old asus laptop with 950m. Only noticeable downside is fans sound that gets loud on full utilization but I see no solution in powerful laptop to noise.
