Always nice when a newly-learned topic pops up in a different area… Here’s a post I enjoyed that shows how to take a t-sne projection and map it to a regular grid (which makes it quite a bit easier to read IMO): https://blog.sourced.tech/post/lapjv/ . The basic idea is to minimize earth-mover’s distance, which was, you’ll recall, the basis of the WGAN too!
