I am new to this course and am in the process of setting up AWS. In the tutorial video you ask to install 64bit versions of the tools. I am wondering if I can install 32bit versions (because of my old OS) and have no issues.
I’d say the chances are vanishingly small that it would work. In fact, I’d guess 0.0% chance.
The reason is simple: 32-bit OS can address at most 4GB of RAM, and the large image models like VGG take more than that to run.
That said, you could likely do deep learning on smaller models & datasets with 32-bit OS, but this course heavily uses VGG, which is very large.
I’d suggest you to use AWS if you don’t have a modern desktop computer, or a really killer laptop.
