Hi, I was discussing the applications of deep learning in ophthalmology with a senior ophthalmologist who runs a not-for-profit missionary institution for ophthalmic care in India. He invited me to try and work with him. I wanted to ask him a few questions that will help us understand the project. I asked him a few preliminary questions regarding the availability of labeled dataset and turns out they do store images and corresponding medical reports.
Given some of the fellows here have worked on similar applications, what other questions should I ask him?

What kind of images and what kind of reports?
You need to figure out how easily you can extract training labels from those reports.
If the reports are structured, it might be relatively easy.
If they are free text, good luck, you will probably need to go through them all by hand.
